Introduction

A vigorous FitKick workout Burns up to 800 calories! Of course you get out of a workout what you put into it. If you put all of your energy into it you will burn more calories. The upbeat music helps you to want to put your “all” into it, and having a room full of like-minded people also doing the same moves causes the intensity to come naturally. Everyone there is after the same results; burning calories, getting rid of stress and toning muscles.

Who Should Join FitKick?

Fitness Kickboxing is for everyone, young and old, men, women and teens! The younger students are normally more flexible, but older or students with physical limitations only need to modify some of the techniques to reduce stress on joints or affected muscles and/or ligaments. We have people doing both types of techniques in every class. One example is what we call our “high base” which requires jumping. While younger people jump, our older or injured students step. Everyone benefits by exercising!

Fitness Kickboxing came from Karate, Muy Thai, Taekwondo and Western Boxing. We use punches, kicks and blocks that can actually help you to learn self defense moves if you combine them with self defense and/or Martial Arts lessons. We encourage Martial Artists to take our fitness kickboxing classes to help them stay in shape and practise the muscle movements used in real Martial Arts to create muscle memory which will make these blocks, kicks and punches like second nature.

What Are Our Goals?

Our goal is to help you to be the best you can be, and to get you in the best shape of your life! We hope you will come try our classes this week!

The Purpose Of Kicking

Every time you raise your leg higher than your navel to kick you are working your abdominal and core muscles.

Overview

Why FitKick Is For You

First of all, everyone needs to do cardio excercises to strengthen your heart and improve lung function.
Second, Physical activity helps burn calories to lose weight and empty fat cells.
Third, Working out lowers your risk for depression and the decline of cognitive function as you get older. Physically active teens and adults usually have fewer symptoms of depression than their peers.
Fourth, Everyone has stress in their lives. Punching, kicking and moving to the music relieves stress.

How Your Body Responds To Aerobic Exercise

During aerobic activity, you repeatedly move large muscles in your arms, legs and hips. You’ll notice your body’s responses quickly.

You’ll breathe faster and more deeply. This maximizes the amount of oxygen in your blood. Your heart will beat faster, which increases blood flow to your muscles and back to your lungs.

Your small blood vessels (capillaries) will widen to deliver more oxygen to your muscles and carry away waste products, such as carbon dioxide and lactic acid.

Your body will even release endorphins, natural painkillers that promote an increased sense of well-being.
